CCI Health & Wellness Services to Expand Pediatric Care in Montgomery County

New CCI Wheaton Location Opens May 4
Silver Spring, MD–CCI Health & Wellness Services continues to increase access to healthcare in the local community with the opening of their newest medical site in Wheaton, Maryland. The new site will provide pediatric services beginning May 4, 2021, and is collocated within CCI’s Wheaton Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) location.
“Our focus at CCI is always on how we can better serve our patients and the residents of Montgomery County. We ask, where does inequity exist within the health delivery landscape, and how are we best suited to resolve it?” said Sonya Bruton, PSY.D., MPA, Chief Executive Officer and President. “This community needed more pediatric care, and it just made good sense to make sure they could also access WIC services if they need them.”
The location has been home to the federally funded WIC at CCI program for four years. The program provides healthy supplemental foods, breastfeeding support, and nutrition counseling for pregnant women, new mothers, infants, and children under five. WIC at CCI is the largest WIC provider in Maryland, with more than 30,000 participants. Its Wheaton location is the highest volume site seeing an average of 115 participants each day.
The new site is also another opportunity for community members to learn more about accessing other CCI services offered throughout Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties. CCI offers integrated care, including dental, behavioral health, and supportive initiatives like WIC, Refugee Health and discount pharmacy services.
Patients can conveniently make appointments at the new location by calling 866- 877-7258. Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance are all accepted. For those who do not have health coverage, CCI offers a discount on a sliding scale.
