FLURONA Season Is Here

It’s time to get vaccinated against COVID and flu.

As children head back to school and the chilly weather sets in, it’s time to consider getting yourself and your loved ones vaccinated against COVID and flu. COVID and flu cases are on the rise. Any of these illnesses can be very disruptive, resulting in missed school and workdays, and the infection of multiple people in your household. However, getting any of these illnesses together at the same time can result in a longer recovery period and even hospitalization.

Vaccines are the best protection against illnesses like COVID and flu. CCI Health Services can help you prepare for this season by getting vaccinated against flu and COVID.

Learn more about each vaccine below and how to schedule your CCI appointment.

The 2023–2024 updated COVID-19 vaccines have arrived at CCI!

COVID vaccines at CCI are only available to established CCI patients ages 6 months and older. If you are not a CCI patient you can find a vaccination location near you at vaccines.gov.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is recommending everyone 5 years and older receive 1 dose of the new vaccine.

For children ages 6 months to 4 years, the CDC recommends:

  • If the child previously received a COVID vaccine, 1 or 2 doses of the new COVID vaccine are needed.
  • If the child did not receive a previous COVID vaccine, 2 doses of the new Moderna or 3 doses of the Pfizer COVID vaccine are needed.

For immunocompromised individuals, the CDC recommends:

  • Individuals who were previously vaccinated: 1 or 2 doses of the new COVID vaccine are needed.
  • Individuals not previously vaccinated against COVID: 3 doses of the updated Moderna or Pfizer vaccine are needed.

COVID vaccine costs will vary depending on your health coverage.
