CCI Health & Wellness Services Host Inaugural Block Party in Greenbelt
CCI’s Block Party Puts Youth Health at Center Stage
Silver Spring, MD– CCI Health & Wellness Services will host its inaugural block party in collaboration with Gilead and the CCI Youth Advisory Board at CCI’s Greenbelt location on Saturday, June 26, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. This free and public event is open to the community. The Block Party aims to highlight CCI’s services and encourage youth in the community to take their health care seriously.
“We’re excited about hosting a block party for the youth in our communities following a long period of social isolation. It’s essential to connect them with resources that are vital for their health,” said CCI’s Family Planning Program Manager, Darnielle A. Williams, MSHEd. “There is so much CCI has to offer that many young people are not aware of or forgo because of cost, including confidential and free resources, such as birth control and STI testing. They can come by with their friends, take charge of their health, and have a fun time.”
CCI Health & Wellness Services in Greenbelt, located at 9220 Springhill Lane, will host the festive block party. Exhibitors include over 20 different health, fitness, non-profits, career, and education organizations in the community offering free food, haircuts, prizes, music, game truck, and much more. There will be raffle prizes including an Xbox 360 and a PS4 game console.
Covid safety guidelines will be in place during the block party, including mask-wearing where distance cannot be maintained. RSVPs are encouraged and can be made at ccicares.eventbrite.com .
