CCI Health Services Partners with City of Greenbelt to Provide Free Health Care for Uninsured Residents
For a limited time, residents living in zip code 20770 who don’t have health insurance can receive medical, dental, and behavioral care at no cost.
GREENBELT, MARYLAND, FEBRUARY 7, 2023 – CCI Health Services (CCI) has partnered with the City of Greenbelt to offer free health services to uninsured residents in Greenbelt. For a limited time, residents living in zip code 20770 who don’t have health insurance can receive medical, dental, and behavioral care at no cost.
CCI is the only community health center chosen by the City of Greenbelt to offer residents without health insurance free care by using funds received from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. With the COVID-19 national and public health emergencies ending in May, this partnership renews CCI and the City of Greenbelt’s commitment to supporting healthy communities by providing access to quality care at a time when residents need it most.
In 2022, 34.9% of CCI patients living in zip code 20770 were uninsured and this number could rise once residents learn they no longer qualify for Medicaid coverage when redeterminations resume in the spring.
“Through this partnership with the City of Greenbelt, CCI Health Services is helping residents without health insurance alleviate the burden of finding affordable quality health care,” said CCI President and CEO Dr. Sonya Bruton. “We are grateful to the City of Greenbelt for taking an innovative approach to using federal dollars to help the community and look forward to working together to expand our reach and services in the future.”
Just as CCI’s partnership with the City of Greenbelt continues to grow so does its footprint in the city. In January, CCI purchased a 47,000 square foot property in Greenbelt that will serve as one of its eight locations, replacing its previous Greenbelt site. The building will offer CCI’s medical and dental services as well as house an on-site pharmacy and its Teaching Health Center, the first in the state of Maryland.
