Here are some things you can do to prepare for your upcoming Medicaid renewal.

on February 20, 2023

Do you, your child, or family member currently have health coverage through Medicaid or Maryland’s Children’s Health Program (MCHP)?

If so, it might be time to renew your coverage to see if you still qualify.

Update Your Contact Information

Make sure Maryland Health Connect and/or MDTHINK has your current mailing address, phone number, email, or other contact information. This way, they’ll be able to contact you about your Medicaid or MCHP coverage. You can update your contact information online, by phone, or in person.

If you have Medicaid or MCHP health coverage through Maryland Health Connection:

Log in to your account at MarylandHealthConnection.gov and update your address, phone number and email.

Call Maryland Health Connection at 855-642-8572. Help is available in more than 200 languages.

Call or visit your local Department of Social Services or your local health department.

If you apply for Medicaid coverage through myMDTHINK:

Log in to your account at mymdthink.maryland.gov  and update your address, phone number and email.

Call the DHS Call Center at 800-332-6347. Help is available in more than 200 languages.

Call or visit your local Department of Social Services or your local health department.

Check Your Mail

Check your mail for a letter about your Medicaid coverage. This letter will tell you one of three things:

Your Medicaid or MCHP coverage is renewing, or

Your Medicaid or MCHP coverage is ending, or

Maryland Health Connection needs more information to determine if you, your child, or family member still qualify for Medicaid or MCHP. If so, a renewal form will be included.

Return Your Renewal Form

If you get a renewal form, fill it out and return it as soon as possible to avoid losing your Medicaid or MCHP coverage.

What if you no longer qualify for Medicaid?

While most children can still be covered through Maryland’s Children’s Health Program (MCHP), adults may be able to get financial assistance to pay for a health insurance plan through Maryland Health Connection. Visit marylandhealthconnection.gov or call (855) 642-8572 for more information.
