Did you know cavities or tooth decay is one of the most common oral health problems for children in the United States? That’s why for National Children’s Dental Health Month, CCI is helping parents and caregivers understand the benefits of good oral health for children.
For many parents, taking care of a child’s baby teeth may not seem all that important. But when it comes to good oral health, early prevention is key. Parents and caregivers can take an active approach to their child’s oral health by developing a routine that includes brushing and flossing. Taking good care of children’s developing teeth will not only help reduce plaque build-up and prevent gum disease and tooth decay but also improve their overall health.
The sooner children start healthy dental routines, the fewer dental visits they will need in the future. This means children won’t have to miss school and parents and caregivers won’t have to miss work or worry about paying for an unexpected dental visit.
While CCI Health Services is here for all children’s routine dental needs, we don’t want them to have to see the dentist more than they have to and with healthy dental habits they won’t.
Keeping children’s teeth healthy is as easy as 1, 2, 3! Follow our friends from our Little CCI Community as they help children brush and floss their way to a healthy smile.
Don’t forget to schedule your child’s routine dental check-up at one of CCI’s dental locations (Gaithersburg, Greenbelt, or Silver Spring) and get one of our collectible stickers!
